5 years of Howling

I can't believe it's been 5 years since I published my first book, The Howling Caverns. This started as a Pathfinder campaign I ran for my regular D&D group, inspired by Ravenloft and folklore from the North of England.

To celebrate this anniversary, I've placed both The Howling Caverns (the original 5e adventure) and HOWL (my recent Cairn remake of The Howling Caverns) on sale at 50%, on Itch.io and DriveThruRPG.

This sale runs until the end of the year, so check them out if you haven't already!

GPSR: General Product Safety Regulation. EU flag.
GPSR: General Product Safety Regulation

You might've heard recently about new EU regulations taking effect soon (13 Dec), which will have potentially significant implications for non-EU companies that sell to EU customers (like me!). Essentially, non-EU companies now need to have an EU representative to manage product safety queries and contact.

For full details and background from a TTRPG perspective, check out Rascal News' recent story:

New Legislation Impacts Games Sales to the European Union
Companies Scramble for Compliance Ahead of December Deadline

At the moment, nobody really knows what this regulation means for small businesses who sell to EU customers, as having a dedicated EU representative for one regulation is expensive and complicated.

The short of this means I'm temporarily stopping sales to EU customers from my shop, shop.byodinsbeardrpg.com.

A lot of small companies are taking the same approach, to wait and see what GPSR looks like in practice and to see what it actually means practically.

I'm sorry folks, I know I've got a lot of customers who are affected by this. We continue to live in unprecedented times. After Brexit, selling to the EU has gotten increasingly complicated and expensive, so hopefully we'll find a way through it and I'll be able to start selling again to my customers in the EU!
